1. The Man of the Trees

Daniel Balima is a senior horticulturist from Tenkodogo, a small Sub-Saharan African town in Burkina Faso. He lives with his large family and has worked there since he was born 67 years ago.

Daniel, as a child, falls ill with polio and, although growing up without the use of his legs, he is able to follow his father in the family nursery, walking on his hands.

He works immediately with great passion and talent, so much that his disability, which for many in Africa means a marked destiny, is for Daniel an opportunity: “I could take two paths: begging or taking my life in hand and devoting myself to work with dignity “. So every day he goes to the garden to work, despite the various difficulties he faces, both those related to his physical condition, and those related to the territory, and he is happy, because he can keep the family and pay their studies to children and grandchildren.

Daniel has chosen and won this great challenge. Every day, he sows and cultivates many vegetables and plants with great effort and gratitude.

Often those who have no food go to the garden, because they know that even without money can open that gate, look into the eyes this generous man, who with a few gestures and a few kind words will make him collect and bring home what is necessary to feed.

In over fifty years of activity, he has given life to more than a million trees, and this is what is most important f

or Daniel because, as he tells us, his country needs many trees because of the drought, and he does not stop; on the contrary, he dreams of planting another million.

2. Money Maker: Saygin Yalcin E

He wanted to become a millionaire to help his seriously ill sister. And he did it. Today, Saygin Yalcin owns various companies around the world. The entrepreneur, who was born in Bremen, Germany, and has Turkish roots, runs his companies from Dubai and invests in numerous start-ups.

His success story started with an online fashion shop for the Middle East, which was later sold to Amazon for around $700 million. He then founded, among other things, sellanycar.com, which trades in used, high-quality automobiles and from which he earns millions. Saygin Yalcin also relies on medical research and supports promising companies and universities, not least to help his sister, who suffers from a specific type of epilepsy.

In the film by Martina Schuster and Johannes Thürmer, the multimillionaire tells his story and explains why morals are the only way to be successful in the long term. He also explains how he was already able to help his sick sister.

3. Call Me Moab

Call Me Moab chronicles the story of the town’s newest mountain bike outfitter—from ideation in 2019 to modern-day success. Some said his business plan wouldn’t work, but tenacity and creativity have proven otherwise.

Viewers will be inspired and challenged as they witness an against-the-grain business model take shape while learning the major stages of Moab’s history and how it evolved into the tourism giant it is today.

But more than that, Call Me Moab shows the journey of every explorer, every dreamer looking for a way to build a better life.
