Balance Docuseries: Episode 1 Upon discovering their low hormone levels are caused by perimenopause, two monks seek to regain balance over their lives while suffering from symptoms of sleeplessness, fatigue, anxiety, and mood swings. Searching for answers, the monks are hit with roadblocks of misinformation, lack of education, and inequality throughout the medical system. They find that a controversial study by the Women’s Health Initiative in 2002 is largely responsible for the harsh views on hormone therapy, and seek out top experts from all backgrounds to help squash the lies. Through these conversations, their own journeys on hormone therapy and using natural lifestyle changes, plus conversations with fellow patients who are suffering from intense symptoms, the monks take on the challenge of stopping misinformation, fighting medical injustice, and educating women on how to make the best choices to live the lives they deserve.
